Lynette  de la Vega, (with Alejandro de la Vega): We are a passionate group who don’t believe in doing things unless they are with the right loving intention. Passion Projects started with my husband and I (Lynette and Alejandro de la Vega) wanting to do something that would make a difference in the world. We were successful and busy with so many projects on the go yet at the same time we felt we were on a journey searching for a different contribution.

Then in 2005 our son was diagnosed with dyslexia. He needed the best nutrition possible for his learning to progress. Leading up to this, I was studying the clever protocols of Henry Osiecki, the most respected Biochemist/Nutritionist in Australia, to help me get the most out of my own sport and fitness goals, focusing on being strong, lean and fit.

We jumped at the challenge to help our son through plant-based nutrition and by following Henry’s protocol we witnessed changes in him very quickly. The ingredients that we were blending were making a difference to his learning outcomes, and the quality of his life in general. It was so exciting!! He was on his way…. But then we thought, there must be a lot of people that need an easy solution for nutrition but don’t have access to the expensive quality ingredients or know what was best to take.

Alejandro and I had fused the love of good design and food in all of our businesses over the years, including designing and operating cafes and restaurants like our own Zigolini’s and Trezini’s Restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne. In addition, I had lived my whole life studying natural therapies and the benefits of whole food nutrition. I followed a strong belief that what we ate, did and thought about, made us either sick or healthy.

So we got to work making sure that the ingredients were not only organic but we traced them back to their origin in detail to ensure that they were the best. We valued quality and integrity and would not compromise. With the inspiration of our son to keep us going we finally launched Passion Projects in 2012. We called our venture Passion Projects as a constant reminder of our purpose.

We believe that to get the most out of our lives we have to eat well, love well, have fun and contribute to others with a driven passion. We believe that we all have a contribution to make to others. After operating Passion Projects since 2012, we are proud to be able to quantify our contribution, as so many of our customers now share with us what we have done to change their health and their lives. We believe we do this through our passion and our no compromise demand for excellence.

If you haven’t yet heard the buzz, superfoods and protein are valuable nutritional boosts to a healthy diet. They are packed full of amazing wholefood health promoting ingredients that feed every cell of your body, supporting your efforts towards reaching your peak fitness and wellbeing. The decision to add these nutrients to your diet are one thing, but then what has to be considered is how the ingredients are sourced, handled and blended. There are so many areas to cut corners which will reduce efficacy.

Not all powders on the market are the same, regardless of what the labels say. It’s our experience that not all companies will go the extra mile to ensure that the quality delivered is the very best possible. At Passion Projects, we go that extra mile because we accept and understand what it takes to demand that quality for our family and ourselves. We search for the best way to deliver quality and ensure that there are no hidden nasty ingredients (that are bonded in the drying, added for flow, a filler or aid ability to dissolve) that are damaging to our bodies. It is in our ethos that we will continue to strive for the best and push all boundaries to achieve this with everything we do.

We have been the entrepreneurial driving force behind the brand as it started for our son at a time when our path had already been forged in design, food and a love for health fitness and nutrition.

Since falling in love at Architecture school in 1979, we’ve worked together on a variety of exciting creative projects around the world since then. Initially trained as Architects, we’ve also worked as designers and builders across broad design fields, including industrial, product, furniture, interior, boat and graphic design. In addition we have owned and operated five of our own highly successful Australian cafe/restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.

What drives us is to work with a purpose and aim to change the world just a little with everything we do. We sincerely feel that we have a huge responsibility to choose to do our best before profits. We work focussed on the detail of every aspect of whatever we apply ourselves to and dive in 100% to bring the best quality possible to the customer.
